A Day in the Life of a Coder
How I Imagine It
10:30am Awake to sound of alarm blaring. Roll over pile of empty Doritos bags and Mountain Dew cans on bed to hit snooze button.
10:39am Repeat
10:48am Get out of bed and throw on pit stained white wife beater and thrice worn boxers. Amble downstairs, grab open can of flat Dew out of fridge, and make bowl of fruit loops. Milk is sour but use it anyway.
11:00am Sit at computer with flat Dew and bowl of Loops. Turn on and go to work. Type incomprehensible string of gibberish into computer, run program, debug with more incomprehensible gibberish, run again. Success! Latest software update for GrabMyNads app is complete and error free. Email completed code to GMN HQ in palo alto.
12pm Lunch @McDonald’s on corner
1pm Home and back to computer. Surf web.
2pm Work day ends later than usual. Clock out and relax with a Pabst Blue Ribbon and unsalted popcorn. Watch DVD of Space Ghost Coast to Coast.
3:30pm Nap
6pm Dinner of frozen burritos. Yummy.
7pm Pleasure self
9:30pm Put on PJs and hit the sack. Another productive day complete!
