How many times have you wished for a unique, non cliche turn of phrase to use in those times when you have hit rock bottom, and there is no place to go but up, or situations in which there is no light at the end of the tunnel and you can’t make any more damn lemonade? If you are anything like me this happens to you at least three to six times daily, or sometimes even more on the weekends. For all the like me’s out there I am proud to present the answer to your colloquial cravings direct from the great nation of Turkey, a country which has nothing in common with or to do with its English language designated counterpart, the turkey.
A sunken fish goes sideways has all the trappings of a classic colloquialism including; the inclusion of seafood, less than ten syllables, and a memorable visual in the form of a dead fish being swept away on its side, presumably to some barren shore where it will land and slowly rot all while emitting an aroma as enticing as a venereal disease and as pleasing as a burning corpse. Yum.
You are welcome.
