What does this have to do with the singularity you ask. It’s nice that you ask questions.

The singularity is many different things to many different people little Timster but for the sane and insane alike it is a time when runaway computer growth will result in the emergence of computer intelligence with catastrophic or utopic consequences for us.

My young and naive Timster stop thinking all the time, it does not behoove you. You see even though we already have artificial intelligence, this is only “intelligence” not ‘intelligence’ as it is thought of by the vast majority of people. In point of fact there is no agreed upon definition which really makes it tough to say what is and is not intelligent. Fortunately this is where our good friends in Silicon Valley have stepped up to the plate and defined it for us.

Very simply, by example. Any modern computer or machine that they say is intelligent especially if it can drive cars or beat a human at some sort of game is defined as intelligent.

Finally you said something that makes sense. For once in your life.

The what now?

Oh right. That gay thing that is definitely going to happen next week, or next year, or within five years, or this decade, or for sure this century, or for certain in 500 years.

I have to say Timster I am not too worried or too excited about the Singularity. According to my good friends in the valley we have had artificial intelligence now for going on at least ten years with no problems at all. The one that lives in my phone has been nothing but nice to me, except when he gives me the wrong driving directions…on purpose…the m-fiuckin somabitch.

What in the hell are you talking about nut boy? I said no such thing, at least not in this post. You must be thinking of one of the hundreds of other times I wrote some dumb thing about AI. Get a grip kid and pay attention to the here and now. In any event, I think there is one thing we can all agree on about the singularity.

It is gay.
