As this new form still has the same name as the old form (machine learning) it is still a logical contradiction and logically impossible. Machines can not learn, no matter the “form.” Unless there is a new ‘form’ of the dictionary containing new ‘forms’ of definitions for the words machine and learning this new form is exactly as impossible as the old form. I do not doubt the impressive nature of the achievements made by this new ‘form’ of ‘machine learning’ (i.e. new form of computing, i.e. more advanced algorithms/software/code and possibly somewhat improved hardware), but it is no more capable of learning than the old form was. That I am still referring to this new ‘form’ as ‘it’, should be explanation enough as to why.
