I am in no position to “mansplain” anyone nor was that my intention. The Ph.D. that you me mock for having is not in an area at anyway related to this discussion. I make no claim to having any special expertise in gender studies or issues related to gender discrimination. I don’t believe I ever claimed or even implied that. My comments simply reflect my experiences as a human being living on planet earth in the current moment. Of course my perspective is biased. Everyone’s is to some extent. I simply wrote a post giving that perspective. Yes it may be wrong. Certainly it represents only a microcosm of the actual reality of the situation. I am happy to argue the relative merits and weaknesses of my position. However to be dismissed by perjurative terms like “mansplaining” does nothing to advance the discussion and only serves to make me feel attacked. It puts me on the defensive. Where is the value in that? If you truly support the cause of equal rights by gender your comments add nothing to that conversation.
