I do not disagree, however, the converse (without distinctions there would be no violence) is not true. A planet full of persons sharing the same beliefs, values, even genes would experience violence if, for example, their survival were threatened by resource depletion and there were only enough for some to survive. This point is often lost on people who suggest elimination of idealogies and religions and tribes would result in a violence free utopian world. Unless that world also was blessed with an abundance of resources that were shared equally (this outcome would be more likely) violence would still occur, and perhaps on a large scale. The will to survive is just as strong in the idealogical as it is in those with none.
