This one goes out to all the naysayers who said the NSF was “wasting” their money by agreeing to fund my sabbatical last year. For those not in the know that was the key event which gave me the necessary time and space needed to connect the last of the dots and finally complete and publish the opinion hypothesis. Little did I know at the time what a firestorm that work would generate among the academic community. Even more of a surprise was the recognition and interest from the lay public. My previous technical works have always been largely ignored by the bulk of professional academics and everyday working people, and rightly so as they are mostly crap. It has been difficult adjusting to the spotlight. Requests for interviews, television and radio appearances are non stop. I even had to hire an agent just to screen my calls. At this rate I may even one day have a date with an actual human woman. I’m not willing yet to go quite that far, but you never know, it could happen.
