I hope someday apps will be able to fix all my psychological flaws, both personal and professional. I am sure it will happen eventually. With the power of AI and machine learning we will soon have apps that can fix just about anything or ruin everything or both at the same time. My question is once apps have turned us from walking trainwrecks of pain and dysfunction into emotionally mature, high performing, optimized, adult humans what will be left for all the psychologists and therapists to do? They probably thought their jobs were safe from the coming AI/machine learning jobspocalypse. However, like all the rest of us, they were ill prepared for the sheer non intelligence of artificial intelligence and the not at all logical contradiction and totally logical possibility of machines that learn. They thought modern computing was exactly like the three previous decades of computing but with more advanced (not really all that advanced) mathematics and slightly more clever statistics combined with hardware that can compute faster then ever. Boy, were they way off base, the big dummies. They failed to realize that once algorithms comprised of rules defined by the new math and statistics were programmed into computers, the spark of life (intelligence, the ability to learn, etc.) would magically appear within them, or at least that the world would believe they had, and thus they would be fucked. Whatever, fuck ’em. Stupid therapists and psychologists. I mean seriously, psychology? You call yourself a science? I know, I know, compared to data “science” you may as well be experimental physics but come on. What was I talking about again? lol!
