I’m going to go out on a limb here and predict “she” will not. In fact I am willing to go so far as to say “she” is going to end up in the technology also ran pile with the likes of drones and VR. In addition to it’s inherent ridiculousness, my parents recently bought one. That is the kiss of death for sure for any would be next big thing. Their reason for the purchase “If we fall down it can call for an ambulance.” Congratulations Alexa you have become the modern day equivalent of the MedAlert bracelet. They also set it up to turn on and off a few lights in the house so it also functions as The Clapper. Of course in the world of technology “very soon” can mean anything from next week to within the century. The singularity was/is coming very soon, drones delivering my amazon packages was/is coming very soon, AI was/is coming soon (contrary to popular opinion it is not here yet and may never be). Given this is is dangerous to predict that any given technology is destined for the scrap heap, but with the Mr. and Mrs. DeMarco factor I still feel confident in saying Alexa we hardly knew ye.
