Interesting that this all around profession doesn’t seem to require knowledge of science or the scientific method. Nor does it require the practice of either of those things. Typically when one calls oneself something, knowledge of that thing, expertise in that thing, and the practice of that thing is a core requirement of calling oneself that thing. This is not the case for the data “scientist.” The only scientists I know who don’t do science, know science, or practice science. But they are most definitely scientists. Most definitely, for some reason.
