Is 550 Views Without a Single Clap Some Sort of Record?
My Deworming Story is Apparently Click Bait and Really, Really, Crappy — To be Crystal Clear, I am Not Asking Anyone to Clap For the Article in Question Or This One for That Matter, So Please Website I am Writing This On Do Not Ban Me or Put Me on Some Sort of Black List or Something or Anything. I Am a Nobody with Zero Clout and No Regular Readership or Anything Important.

I must begin by stating emphatically and for the record I am not asking for anyone to clap for the post in question or for this one. In fact I am specifically asking you not to clap for either.
Not only does it violate Medium’s rules to ask for claps, it is also tacky and lame. I am only writing this as a commentary on clickbait and apparently my shitty, terrible, horrible writing skills. The deworming story I am referring too was published a mere three days ago and has already garnered 550 views. I recognize that is probably peanuts to many writers on the site, but for me it is way beyond what I normally get for anything I publish. To give you a sense of what I mean, I did some quick math, and in the month of January I averaged 22 views across everything I wrote. That is for the entire month, and January was no outlier. Popular I am not, to say the least.
Since I do not often/ever write things that are as popular as this story has already become (to be clear still not that popular at all) I have no experience with the number of claps such stories typically receive. That said I have to believe zero is not that common. I thought it was pretty good, true story, interesting, kind of gross, had one or two funny lines, not exactly my best work, but a decent effort. But zero claps, zero, I mean seriously, is it that bad?
Authors update 02/20/18: Now up to 794 views with no claps. I had a couple of suggestions to unlock the story so non members could clap but nope I am in this for the long haul.
