Ouch Martin. You hurt me. Lol! And here I thought my Ph.D. Made me a better person. Of course you are right. Education does not make better people but I do believe it makes better people possible. Not everyone uses knowledge for the betterment of mankind or even themselves. Many perhaps even most use it for evil ends. At the very least they use it only to improve their own position in the world. However, there are a select few for whom education and knowledge lead to great things. In the best case it leads to better things for all of humanity. I would never argue that the non-educated cannot do the same. However I would argue that the uneducated who do great things are the exception. Mostly knowledge has been and always will be a force for good. A force for positive change. I need to believe this. If you search deep into yourself I think you agree. If not why would you choose to be an educator bro? You are no sociopath. Why pass on knowledge to others if not to improve the human condition?
