Technology, the only industry where blaming the consumer for being so stupid is an acceptable and universally used excuse for commercializing shitty products. They need to understand that the test is only part of a system. It’s the system that is malfunctioning, not my shitty test. It is only a system of parts: the instrument platform it runs on, the assay chemistry, and the consumables. While errors and failures are certainly annoying, they are merely symptoms that some part of the system is malfunctioning. And since it’s science, the various components can be fixed, I hope, probably, maybe, in six months to a year.” I’ll say with a smile then turn around and begin to walk away. “Why the fuck didn’t you fix it before you said it was ready to sell then?” my boss will reply. “Just lazy I guess.” I’ll say as I walk out the door head held high.
