…people have grown impoverished. Hence, I often say America is the world’s first poor rich country — what it means is that in terms of people’s lives, their lived experience is one of frustration, resignation, anger, and despair. Their expectations haven’t been fulfilled.
This is the ultimate caricature of America that is used endlessly by the news media, the politicians, everybody with an axe to grind or a position to sell. America the angry, America the frustrated, etc. Can you do a poll of frustration, anger, resignation, and despair? Can you measure these things? I mean seriously, really, measure them directly and objectively? Of course not. Please stop telling me how angry and frustrated American’s are b/c one of the few things that is truly making American’s angry and frustrated is being told over and over again how angry and frustrated they are.
