Weak, strong, deep, shallow etc. How many hedge words can we invent to hide the fact that AI still does not currently exist anywhere on, above, or below the surface of the earth. Like the singularity itself the mighty AI is always “just around the corner” or it is “inevitable.” Consider this, what if it isn’t? What if it is not possible? There is a very good chance that could be the case. Then what will we do? What will we pontificate about? What will we have conferences and seminars and classes about? I’m sure we can invent something else to transform the world. I heard those learning machines are awfully smart, so busy learning they are. Maybe they could help. A helpful resource linked below.
