Though your argument against the misuse of the brain as computer metaphor is weakened somewhat by the article your wrote which appears at the bottom entitled “Wired for memory; how your brain remembers by completing…” The brain as having “wires” or being “wired” is another of the most misused and abused brain metaphors of all time. In that same article title you also commit the mereological fallacy by stating that “your brain remembers.” A brain, outside of a (mostly) whole human person with a (mostly) fully functioning nervous system is not capable of remembering anything. I also tend to think of the “brain as computer” meme as more like an analogy than a metaphor but I seem to be a minority in that opinion.
